Some of What the Northern Ohio Fire Fighters Do
Updated On: Jul 187, 2009

We represent approximately 1,100 active fire fighters in Northern Ohio that stand ready to risk their lives to help others and approximately 450 retired firefighters that completed their service.
In addition to providing help in emergencies, we also help people in the community that are in need of assistance.

Thanks to the generosity of the good people of Northeast Ohio,
we have been able to accomplish many good things.

Over the last twelve years we have:

  • Raised over $2.5 million dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA);

  • Collected $1.75 million dollars for the Widow and Children’s Fund for the New York Firefighters after the September 11th catastrophe;

  • Donated almost $350,000.00 for the JohnA.GannonBurns & TraumaCenter at MetroHealth; and

  • Raised over $1.1 million dollars for the Aluminum Cans for Burned Children (ACBC) program that provides fire safety education to area school children; provides a summer and winter camp experience for pediatric burn survivors; and provides a scholarship program for the continuing education efforts of burn survivors.
