Thank You Jim Astorino
Posted On: May 126, 2016

As of May 5th 2016 Jim Astorino will complete his tenure as President of the Northern Ohio Firefighters Association.  The Northern Ohio Firefighters Association has been serving firefighters for many years and it is my belief that the entire state of Ohio has benefitted from its existence.  Throughout his presidency Jim has provided unwavering leadership and a passionate commitment to helping firefighters and their families.  He has been a tireless champion of firefighters, paramedics and first responders for over 30 years.  It is not easy to see all of the good that is being been done by our organization.  The vast majority of the work is done out of the view of most of the membership, as well as the public at large.

Jim’s tenure can best be summed up by the organizational mission statement:

To organize all full-time Fire Fighters; to secure just compensation for their services and equitable settlement of their grievances; to promote as safe and healthy work environment for Fire Fighters and Emergency Medical or Rescue Workers as is possible through modern technology; to promote just and reasonable working conditions; to place the members on a higher plane of skill and efficiency; and to promote harmonious relations between Fire Fighters and their employers.

Jim has dedicated his life to public safety and ensuring that we can all live in a safer community.  He has spent countless hours as an advocate for firefighters and the issues that affect us.  Jim has also played a major role in fantastic charitable organizations such as Aluminum Cans for Burned Children and Northern Ohio Firefighters Charities.

Please join us in expressing gratitude for Jim’s many years of service and dedication to all aspects of the fire service.
